The Ghana International Folklore Festival (GIFF) is creating a dedicated Accommodation Village to welcome participating cultural teams from Ghana, Africa, and around the world.
Designed as more than a place to stay, the Accommodation Village will provide participants with a comfortable and welcoming environment where cultures meet, friendships develop, and international cultural exchange comes to life.
MORE THAN ACCOMMODATION
The GIFF Accommodation Village is an important part of the festival experience.
Participating teams will have the opportunity to stay within a shared festival environment where they can meet artists, performers and cultural representatives from different countries.

TEAM ACCOMMODATION
GIFF will coordinate accommodation arrangements for participating teams throughout the festival period.
Accommodation planning will take into consideration:
- Number of participants
- Arrival and departure dates
- Room and group arrangements
- Festival programme schedules
- Transportation requirements
- Special accommodation needs communicated during registration
The specific accommodation arrangements will be communicated to participating teams before their arrival in Ghana.
FOOD & HOSPITALITY
Food is an important part of cultural exchange.
Participating teams will receive meals as provided under the official GIFF participation package, while also having opportunities to experience aspects of Ghanaian cuisine.
From traditional Ghanaian dishes to familiar international options, GIFF aims to make participants feel welcome throughout their stay.
Participants with specific dietary requirements are encouraged to communicate these during registration.
TRANSPORTATION
GIFF will coordinate transportation arrangements to help participating teams move efficiently between the Accommodation Village and scheduled festival activities.
Transportation may include connections to:
- Festival venues
- Performance locations
- Cultural activities
- Official excursions
- Selected tourism destinations
- Arrival and departure points
Transportation arrangements will be communicated to participating teams as part of the official festival schedule.
A COMMUNITY OF CULTURES
One of the unique features of the Accommodation Village is the opportunity for people from different countries and cultural backgrounds to live within the same festival environment.
A traditional dancer from one country may meet a drummer from another.
A musician may discover a completely different musical tradition.
A cultural group may form a friendship that continues long after the festival.
This is the spirit of GIFF.

Through the Accommodation Village and the wider GIFF Host Family Programme, participants will have opportunities to experience Ghana beyond the festival stage.
The Host Family Programme provides selected participants with an opportunity to connect with Ghanaian families, experience community life and learn more about Ghanaian customs and traditions.
